After Korean microblading in Busan Seomyeon, brow colour does not settle in a straight line. Typically it looks dark at first, turns pale for a while after flaking, then comes back softer over several weeks as it settles into the skin. This page focuses on how the colour looks at each stage. For what to do and avoid, see downtime.

Before you book

Three things to know before booking in Busan Seomyeon

Knowing how healing looks makes the in-between stages much less worrying.

  1. 01

Day one is not the final colour

Fresh brows usually look darker than they will once healed. Try not to judge them straight away.

  2. 02

There is often a pale phase

After flaking, colour can seem to have faded. In many cases it gradually comes back over the following weeks.

  3. 03

    Judge the result weeks later

Final shape and depth, and whether you need a touch-up, are best judged once the colour has settled.

Typical stages

Korean microblading healing in Busan Seomyeon: how the colour changes

The table below shows how brow colour typically looks as it heals. Timing and appearance vary with your skin, the type of treatment (hair stroke, powder and so on) and the colour chosen. Fresh colour is not the healed colour, and the final result varies from person to person. It is a general guide, not a promise.

WhenHow the colour typically looksWhat to keep in mind
Day 0 to a few daysDark, with crisp edges. Hair strokes look very definedThis depth is not what stays
A few days to about a weekThe surface flakes and colour lifts in placesPatchy is normal while some areas have flaked and others have not

Checking progress

How to check your brows while they heal

Healing brows look very different depending on light and angle. If you feel unsure, try these.

  • Use daylight: bathroom lighting can make brows look darker or lighter than they are. Check by a window.
  • Take matching photos: every few days, same spot, same angle, so you can see real change.
  • Do not over-compare sides: each brow can flake at a different pace, so a temporary difference is common.
  • Tone: fresh colour can look darker or warmer at first and usually softens as it settles.
  • Hands off: even when checking, don't touch your brows or pick at flakes.

If something worries you, send a daylight photo by WhatsApp, Instagram, KakaoTalk or LINE. If pain or swelling gets worse, or you notice heat or pus, see a doctor promptly.

FAQ

Healing Stages FAQ

My brows look far too dark right after treatment.

That is typical. Fresh brows look darker than healed ones and usually soften over several weeks after flaking.

After flaking I can hardly see the colour.

A pale phase after flaking is common, and colour often returns gradually. If you are still concerned after several weeks, send us a photo.

One brow looks darker than the other.

Brows can flake at different speeds, which makes them look uneven for a while. Judge once settled; if needed, a touch-up can balance them.

How long until the colour settles?

Typically the skin surface settles in around two weeks and the colour over a few weeks, though it varies with your skin and the type of treatment.

Do hair stroke and powder brows heal differently?

The overall pattern is similar, but strokes and soft shading look different at each stage. See the comparison page.

When should I send progress photos?

Any time you have a question. For a touch-up assessment, send a daylight photo once the colour has settled.
