A smaller-looking face
Bringing the hairline slightly forward changes how much forehead shows and the balance of the whole face. We agree a position that doesn't overdo it.
A natural hairline that respects the balance of your face. Korean hairline tattoo in Busan Seomyeon at MODA BROW designs a natural hairline around the direction and density of your existing hair and the shape of your forehead. What matters most to us is the proportion and harmony of the whole face, not just the hairline. For M-shaped corners, a wide-looking forehead or thin temples, fine hair-like strokes are added one at a time.

Front, temple, side and top views show how the hairline changes from different angles. Results vary from person to person.

A hairline tattoo adds fine strokes that look like hair to areas where the hairline looks sparse, to refine the frame of your face. We look at your hair direction and density and your forehead shape, and set the line by the proportion and harmony of your whole face. It does not make hair grow; the drawn strokes sit among your real hair so the hairline looks fuller and more even.

Our hairline tattoo works like hair stroke brows: each stroke represents a single hair. Hair at the hairline changes direction and thickness from place to place, from the centre of the forehead to the temples and down to the sideburns, so stroke angle and length change gradually to follow it.
If you are interested in scalp micropigmentation (SMP), where dots of pigment are used across the scalp to add density, please ask us by message, including whether we can offer it. This page covers hair-stroke style tattooing along the hairline.
Where strokes go, and how many, depends on what you want to change. Here are eight common requests.
Bringing the hairline slightly forward changes how much forehead shows and the balance of the whole face. We agree a position that doesn't overdo it.
Strokes are added above the temples, where the hairline recedes, to bring it closer to a softer curve.
Strokes are spaced so skin shows between them and angled with your hair, so they don't look drawn even up close.
Lowering the visible hairline a little across the centre and sides makes the face look less long.
Strokes are added where scalp shows through, so it is less noticeable. Please bear in mind this does not grow hair.
Short, downward strokes from the temples towards the sideburns tidy up your profile.
Updos show the hairline clearly, so we also check the design with your hair pulled up.
Pulled-back styles expose the temples and forehead corners. Tell us how you usually wear your hair and we will set the area around it.
The hairline price can depend on the size of the area. Price, touch-up timing and terms, and the deposit are confirmed when you book, after we have seen your photos. For other treatments, see the price list.
Prices are in KRW. We confirm any difference by area, and whether VAT is included, when we quote. You can pay in cash or by card.
From booking to aftercare, a hairline tattoo follows these six steps. The treatment takes about 1–1.5 hours, depending on the area.
We confirm the treatment you want, your visit dates, any previous treatment history and your reference images. Please also send photos of your hairline from the front, both temples and with your hair pulled back, on WhatsApp, Instagram, KakaoTalk or LINE.
We look at your face shape, muscle movement, left–right asymmetry, the direction and density of your hair and your forehead shape and your own taste, all together.
We look at the design with you in the mirror, with your hair both down and up, and adjust it towards the direction you want.
Working from the agreed design, we choose the method that suits your skin and any existing pigment, then begin.
We review the finished design together and explain how the colour will change and how healing usually goes.
We explain the care and precautions for the treated area. If a touch-up is needed, we discuss it with you individually.
Straight after treatment you may see temporary redness, swelling, darker colour or flaking. How healing goes and the final colour depend on your skin and the type of treatment, so no particular result can be promised. If you are worried about discomfort, tell us when you book.
Detailed care for each area follows the written aftercare sheet we give you at the studio. Before treatment, tell us about any previous semi-permanent makeup or tattoo (with photos), allergies to pigment or anaesthetic, pregnancy or breastfeeding, medication and recent skin procedures. See downtime, aftercare and pain for details.
Semi-permanent pigment typically fades gradually over time. How long it lasts depends on skin type, oiliness, sun exposure and your hair-washing and care routine, so we can't give a single figure that applies to everyone.
A touch-up is typically considered after healing to fill in any lighter strokes, and after that maintenance is planned around how the colour holds. Touch-up timing and terms are confirmed when you book.
See how long it lasts and touch-ups for more.
If you are treated while travelling, you will continue the aftercare yourself once you are home. Understanding the healing stages and care steps beforehand makes that much easier.
Our hygiene practice and equipment are covered on the safety page.
