Does Korean microblading hurt? It is the question first-timers in Busan Seomyeon ask most. Sensation varies a lot from person to person, so no one can honestly say you will feel nothing. Brows are usually described as a scratchy, prickling feeling, and a topical numbing cream is commonly used. Here is how it generally feels, and what can make it feel stronger or milder.

Before you book

Three things to check before booking in Busan Seomyeon

If you are worried about pain, these are worth checking when you book.

  1. 01

    How numbing is used

Whether and how topical numbing is used differs between studios. Our approach is confirmed when you book.

  2. 02

    Your skin and sensitivities

If you have reacted to numbing creams or medicines before, or have allergies, please tell us in advance.

  3. 03

How you feel on the day

Poor sleep or being close to your period can make it feel stronger. If your schedule allows, pick a day when you feel well.

Feeling at ease

Helping you feel calm on your first visit

Anxiety affects how much something hurts. Not knowing what is happening tends to make the same sensation feel stronger.

At MODA BROW, the director explains each step before starting, and you check the design in the mirror first. With only 4 clients a day, there is no rush. If you need a pause during treatment, just say.

How it feels

  • Lips (lip blush): thinner skin, often described as more sensitive than brows.
  • Touch-ups: often a smaller area than the first session, though sensation still varies.

At any studio

Five questions to ask if you are worried about pain

Whichever studio you are considering, these are worth asking before you book.

  1. Is topical numbing used, and how?
  2. How do I let you know if I need a break?
  3. What happens if I have allergies or a skin condition?
  4. Is there anything I should avoid beforehand, such as caffeine or alcohol?
  5. Who do I contact if soreness or redness continues afterwards?
